The fare is expensive, but for a treat after a long day of sightseeing this is an excellent choice as a venue. You can also enjoy a tour of the silk-draped interiors of the hotel while you wait for your meal to be served.

Mavalli Tiffin Room

More popularly known at the MTR, this is the place to taste traditional south Indian cuisine. You must try the Masala Dosa, which involves spiced potato and vegetables wrapped in a pancake made out of ground rice and lentils. It is served with coconut chutney and sambhar (lentil gravy).

They also serve a 'Thali' which consists of the traditional meal served at any home. It will give you an assortment of vegetables, salads, breads, and sweets. The serving of a Thali is fun as you can literally keep calling for extras for the vegetables and lentils. The food is very affordable and the variety is phenomenal. They have fixed timings for breakfast lunch and dinner.

Rim Naam

This multi-cuisine restaurant is located in a hotel as well. It is one of the best places to eat seafood in town and has an open-air kitchen and you can pick out your live sea food from the counter as you place your order. Kids love it. On the expensive side, but ideal for a pampering treat.

Taika – The Spa Lounge

If you take your health food seriously, head here for an Ayurvedic-inspired meal. The meals here are well balanced in the tamsvic and rajasvic flavors as defined in old texts of the Ayurveda. You can have drinks and spa food here at a somewhat luxurious cost. Portions may leave you wanting more. Don’t go if you want to eat a heavy meal. Nice for an off beat experience.
